Tonight is the last night of Marte, who has been an in-and-out part of the 'house scene now for more than 2 years. Her departure doesn't mark the end of the long-termers, but she is the last one of her kind... like Ravi and Seb and Silje and Vik and Kiran and Anne-sue and Laura and so many others. With the future of 165 in doubt, so to is the liklihood of any of them passing this way again. The long-termers we host now have more black and white, less culturally-curious perspectives; they are either determined to stay and live, or they have no other option but us... Piratas, the tropical version of the
Island of Misfit Toys.
Painting this week, or perhaps wasting hours staring at an un-opened can of paint. We'll see. Big crowd expected for the Corpo Cristi holiday weekend kicking off Thursday. Got a booking for 5 Chinese, which'll double our annual average. Hope they're not a hit squad!
The sun is back and the beach is once again hopping. That's great news for us.
